Join us in celebrating a Ladies Cup tradition that dates back to 1888! ALL ARE INVITED – Sailors, Spectators, Racers and Cruisers.

Schedule of 2013 Ladies Cup Events
All shore-side activities at LCYC

Friday, August 2nd:

  • 1500-2100: Guest boats arrive. Arrange for a mooring by contacting one of the LCYC stewards at
    (802) 985-3372. Arrange early as space is limited.
  • 1830-?: Welcome party. Food catered by La Villa Bistro (plates of salads, rum punch). No charge.
  • Ladies Cup Trophies on display, including new trophy for first junior skipper (age 17 or under as
    of August 3, 2013)

Saturday, August 3rd:

  • 0800-0930: Bagels and Fruit, coffee and juice. Donations accepted for the LCYC Junior Sailing Program.
  • 0800-0930: Late Registration
  • 0930: Skippers' Meeting
  • 1105: Scheduled Ladies Cup Race Start
  • Awards Presentation - as soon as possible after racing. Beverages available. Champagne toast for all. Each participating boat will receive a commemorative 125th anniversary mug.
  • 1600: Ladies Cup BBQ. Catered by the Bottomless Pit BBQ of Jeffersonville, featuring pulled pork, salads, beverages.
    Tickets available at the door. $12.50/person.

Club

LCYC is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain. Cruising

Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season. We have a number of scheduled events planned for the summer season. Cruisers are out and about just about every weekday and weekend throughout the summer.

Lake Champlain Yacht Club has an active junior sailing program, open to all children ages 8-17. We use Optimist prams and Flying Junior dinghies for instruction and racing. Full and half-day sessions are offered for all ability levels over an eight week period each summer. All of our Instructors are US Sailing certified and have extensive experience.
