Membership Types

There are two membership types applicable to new applicants: Associate and Full

Associate Member
The Associate membership is designed to support and encourage boating within a younger age range by providing a reduced initiation fee and annual fees. To qualify for Associate membership, the eldest family member must be between the ages of 18 and 40. An Associate member has all responsibilities, rights, and privileges of the club, including voting rights, club access, and mooring rights. A member can only be an Associate member for five years or until they turn 40 years old, whichever comes first. Once this occurs, they can choose to become a Full member, where the remaining full initiation fees will be due, and their annual dues will increase to those of Full membership.

Full Member
A Full member is 40 years or older (or a former Associate member who has exceeded 5 years) and has all responsibilities, rights, and privileges, including voting rights, club access, and mooring rights.

Cruising

Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season. We have a number of scheduled events planned for the summer season. Cruisers are out and about just about every weekday and weekend throughout the summer.
