Mooring Wait List

We currently have a mooring waitlist; it can take 1-3 seasons before a mooring becomes available. Often we can provide temporary moorings (if an existing member is away for the summer, they will make their mooring available for another member to use for the season). All of this is hard to estimate as it depends on when current members relinquish their moorings or if members offer their mooring for a temporary mooring for the summer. If a member is given a temporary mooring, unfortunately, there is no guarantee a permanent mooring will be available the following season. On average, we can turn over 2-7 moorings a season. We also have assigned dry sail storage spaces for boats on trailers. These may be more readily available. You must submit a membership application and be approved by the board to be added to the mooring waitlist.

There are two ways in which you can join the LCYC Mooring Wait List:

1) Once approved to become a member of LCYC, you may delay fully joining until a mooring is available. This would require a one-time mooring waitlist fee of $500. To accept a mooring when it becomes available, you must become a Full or Associate Member at that time. The $500 fee will contribute to the initiation fee. This option has no club rights or access until you become a Full or Associate member.

2) Once approved to become a member of LCYC, you join as an Associate or Full member (whichever is applicable to you) and can join the mooring waitlist. This would require initiation fee payments to begin and annual dues to be paid.

In either case you must contact the Harbormaster to get your name on the waiting list.

Club

LCYC is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain. Cruising

Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season. We have a number of scheduled events planned for the summer season. Cruisers are out and about just about every weekday and weekend throughout the summer.
