Our Crew Match webpage continues to be active and has successfully matched up racing crew and boats looking for crew for many years. This year we are adding a new way for skippers and potential crew of all types to connect, particularly when a last minute opportunity or need arises. This is not replacing the Crew Match web page, which has been limited to racing and mostly longer term opportunities.
If you’re familiar with WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, we’ve set up a Group Chat called LCYC Crew Match, which you can request to join by clicking on the link below. Once in the group, you’ll be able to communicate immediately with everyone in the group to advise of crew openings or see if anyone is looking for you to crew. It could be for that day’s race, cruise or daysail, or anytime in the future.
One goal is to make it easier for new members, as well as non members, to reach out and find crewing opportunities, but we hope this makes it even easier for everyone to fill up their boats even at the last minute.
