Champagne Race
What is more fun than just racing or just cruising?
• THE CHAMPAGNE RACE •
A Race That Is More Of A Cruise
A fun, chill, annual event where all racing strategies are on the table and few rules apply. The race is a loosely organized pursuit, in reverse PHRF order, that finishes when the last boat arrives at the finish line, or the race is called. Traditionally, the race finishes at Kingsland Bay or Willsboro Bay with an optional overnight, although a finish at Shelburne Bay is sometimes selected for a simpler, more accessible event based at LCYC. The race course and details are announced each season. The Champagne Race is open to all LCYC members and finishes with a celebration dinner, where prizes are awarded.
