Vessel Safety Check...changed to 7/13

Saturday, July 13, 2024 - 09:00 to 17:00

If the Coast Guard stopped you, would your boat meet current safety standards? The Vessel Safety Check allows an expert to confidentially inspect your boat to see if it meets current safety standards, and if it doesn't, recommend what you should do so it does.

The event will be held on the LCYC docks beginning at 9am, with the last inspection scheduled for 4pm. Each examination takes 30-35 minutes, so we’ve planned on 40-minute blocks. One examiner will be present.

If you are interested in having this voluntary, confidential safety check on your boat, please email Walt Marti at He will slot your boat into an available time slot between 9am and 4pm.

LCYC is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain.
