The good news for all those folks affected by the sudden closure of the bridge is replacement operations are clearly on the "fast track." This might also be bad news for sailors on the lake as it appears at least some of the proposed designs would not allow sailboats to use the southern 30 miles of the lake. I have made a couple phone calls regarding the proposed designs, but was told they will be presented at the December 12, public meeting. When I pressed further, my impression was designs with much lower clearance might be on the table.
"Three identical public meetings, each including a brief formal presentation followed by time for general questions and answers and time for the public to view displays will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. The purpose of these "open house" sessions is to provide an opportunity to receive further input from interested parties."
I have business in NYC on the 12th and cannot attend.
Perhaps the Club might want to take a position as an interested party on the lake?
