You may have heard me muttering about this for the past few months as the way we cruisers have been communicating has left folks out as new cruisers get left off old lists we all have been circulating. Well! That's all over!
Jay Heaslip has set up a listserve for us (a listserve allows folks to subscribe if they are interested and want to receive emails of general interest. It eliminates the need to send a message to multiple parties).
The good news for all those folks affected by the sudden closure of the bridge is replacement operations are clearly on the "fast track." This might also be bad news for sailors on the lake as it appears at least some of the proposed designs would not allow sailboats to use the southern 30 miles of the lake. I have made a couple phone calls regarding the proposed designs, but was told they will be presented at the December 12, public meeting. When I pressed further, my impression was designs with much lower clearance might be on the table.
