Lake Champlain Yacht Club invites you to join our racing program! We host a summer-long Wednesday night series in Shelburne Bay, a weekend series on the open lake, a short-course Etchells/Sportboat series, and more.

All sailboats participating in races conducted by the Lake Champlain Yacht Club must register to permit validation of PHRF rating and for scoring. The finish results will not be reported for boats that have not registered. All sailboat races conducted by the Lake Champlain Yacht Club may be raced without charge by members of LCYC and other affiliated sailing clubs on Lake Champlain (Malletts Bay Boat Club, Valcour Sailing Club, Royal Savage Yacht Club, Point au Fer Sailing Club). All weekend races may be sailed without charge regardless of club membership. For Monday and Wednesday night races, sailboats whose owners are not members of any affiliated sailing club on Lake Champlain will be charged an annual fee of $150 for registration. Regional one-design regattas (e.g. Viper 640 or others) may require separate registration and additional fees.

Racers must have or apply for a current Lake Champlain PHRF rating, login to the LCYC website and register for racing. Your registration and waiver will carry over from year-to-year, and you can update your race selection each year in your account.

LCYC members who race are required to serve as race committee or PRO for at least one event every season. Volunteer by choosing an open event from the RC Signup block.

The Lake Champlain Yacht Club is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain. Please let us know if you are interested in membership at LCYC!

Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events during the sailing season. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season. We have a number of scheduled events planned for the summer season. Cruisers are out and about just about every weekday and weekend throughout the summer.

Lake Champlain Yacht Club has a robust junior sailing program, open to all children ages 8-17. We use Optimist prams and Flying Junior dinghies for instruction and racing. Full and half-day sessions are offered for all ability levels over an eight week period. All of our Instructors are US Sailing certified and have extensive experience. We have two race weeks during the summer, the Lake Champlain Champ Chase Regatta and traveling to Lake George for the Cheeseburger Regatta!
