Diamond Island Regatta

The fifth running of the Diamond Island Yacht Club's Diamond Island Regatta and post-race Lobsterfest is Saturday, Aug 19, 2017. Attendance has grown each year - in 2016 30 boats raced in six classes, 2 JaM & 4 Spinnaker. It is becoming one of the prime go-to races in the Lake Champlain Championship Series. LCYC provides race management (Dale Hyerstay, Keith Kennedy & John Harris) using 19 course options that each feature Diamond Island as a mark. Marcel Beaudin wins record 6th Ladies Cup

Marcel Beaudin, sailing the Blazer 23 "Sly" with his usual all Beaudin crew, comprised of his sons and grandsons, won a record 6th Ladies Cup in a race that featured winds from 0 to 20 knots from just about every point on the compass at one time or another. Congratulations Marcel and Team Beaudin !!!

LCYC Sailors Share Mediterranean Trip

At LCYC’s Tuesday evening Speaker Series on July 25th, Doug Merrill and Bill Kallock took us on a spectacular trip from Spain to Athens, Greece, aboard a Boreal 47, with stops at scenic villages, ancient ruins, and remarkable ocean-side terrain. And, of course, there was sailing in the Med, which is clearly like few other places in the world. It was a great night, and the event was well attended.

Shanti Finished Marion to Bermuda Race

Today, June 14th at 15:36, Shanti, a Azuree 46 owned by LCYC members Chris and Mary Lintermann, finished the 2017 Marion to Bermuda Race. The race started June 9th off Marion, MA and after 5 days, 2hrs, and 41 minutes, Shanti finished east of Bermuda as 12th boat to finish. Hopefully, we will get more details from Chris and Mary later this summer.

LCYC is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain. Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season. We have a number of scheduled events planned for the summer season. Cruisers are out and about just about every weekday and weekend throughout the summer.

Junior Sailing

Lake Champlain Yacht Club has an active junior sailing program, open to all children ages 8-17. We use Optimist prams and Flying Junior dinghies for instruction and racing. Full and half-day sessions are offered for all ability levels over an eight week period each summer. All of our Instructors are US Sailing certified and have extensive experience.
