There will be a brief presentation at the Change of Watch by the Regatta Chair about the proposal to study the possibility of extending the award of the Ladies cup to non-LCYC boats. A question and answer session will follow. For more information see the proposal and resolution outlined on the first page of the January 2010 Binnacle. Please read the resolution and come to the Change of Watch with any questions. Ladies Cup
I am opposed to opening up the Ladies Cup to non club member boats. This is the annual club championship award and should stay that way. I understand the interest in stimulating lake-wide competition, particularly since lake-wide events and organization have diminished of late. However, this is not the time to dilute the importance (to club members) of the clubs highest award. The historic and proprietary nature of the cup honors club members who have truly distinguished themselves in corinthian competition according to the highest purposes of the club.
