I have setup a new hosting account with Dreamhost for LCYC. Today, I will be doing some transitioning of content and databases to the new account, but it shouldn't affect the site too much. Right now, the account controls the following domains:
lcyc-vt.net
lcyc-vt.com
lcyc.info
I will be making lcyc.info the master domain and lcyc-vt.net will mirror it, while lcyc-vt.com will hold a copy of lcyc-vt.org. Later this week, I will begin work on transitioning the hosting of lcyc-vt.org to Dreamhost, alongside our other domains.

domain Trans
Hey Jason....all is looking really good. I have started to enter some events on the calendar and it seems to be pretty straight forward and easy.
When do you think we'll be in a position to go public with the new site?.....thanks again.....
We could go public any time.
We could go public any time. It just depends on how much content we want to have transitioned by then. I would feel better once I get .org hosted on the same server, but that doesn't really affect the operation of the new site.
Actually, when we go public, I want to do it by having .org redirect to lcyc.info, but still have the old site up at one of our other domains. This way, anyone trying to get to the old site will go to the new one, but we will still have the old one completely intact, just at a different domain, with a link from the new site.
btw, what do you think of the new domain name (lcyc.info)? I really like it, and I think it's easier to say aloud.

lcyc.info is easy
I like lcyc.info also. It is simple and easy to both say and type in. Glad we could make this change.
We could wait a bit longer to go public. I'd also like to have the entire calendar up and posted to the new site....won't bother doing any calendar posting on the old site. Lets keep plugging along!!!

Calendar is very powerful
Jason....I'm working on the calendar and it indeed is a very powerful tool. Have a look to be sure that I'm doing things correctly.
thanks....E
Looks good
It looks good to me, but I'm new to it too. We can define more detailed event types, but I think it is fine for now.
For the inline calendar on the side, I can make it display like it is and/or a list of upcoming events. Let me know what you think.

Lets keep it like it is
lets keep the sidebar calendar as is. I don't think we want to clutter the page too much, at least until people get a feel for the new look.
