Don't Worry—Be Happy Pick-Up Regatta 2006

Sep 24 2006 - 14:00
Sep 24 2006 - 16:00

You are cordially invited to join the assembled multitude Sunday afternoon, Sept. 24 for what will probably be the last Don't Worry - Be Happy Pick-up Regatta of the 2006 sailing season, or not.

The course will be from the starting line (Burlington Breakwater Southern Lighthouse... Oakledge Park Oil Pier Structure) around Juniper Island (island left to port) and back to the original line. There will be no skipper's meeting before the race. The silent starting gun will be at exactly 2:00 PM, GPS time. There will be no flagged starting sequence as there is no race committee. PHRF corrected class and overall results will not be posted as soon as possible after the conclusion of the race. Don't check the DW-BH Regatta website because it doesn't exist.

Racing rules are the same as those used by LCYC... look at their excellent website. Safety and good sportspersonship are the overriding criteria for this event. Any 2006 DW-BH Season protests arising will be heard at a meeting atop Camel's Hump at 3:00 AM on Sunday, April 1, 2007. Decisions will probably not be rendered within one calendar year.

This event is brought to you by the Old Salt Dock Yacht Club... in formation.

I will try to drop by your office today to present you with a "first edition" DW-BH burgee with our compliments. Please fly it proudly during the event to identify your boat as one of the many participants in this race.

Races in the 2007 season will again be held every Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM from 15 May to 15 October. Mark your calendar.

Wishing you fair, but not too strong, winds, and moderate, seasonal temperatures without airborne ice,

Jerry Manock
