The First and Last Boats To Get There, and Others Too

We are currently researching the history of this whimsical cruising race that is like no other. The starts are in inverse order based on rated comparative speed – slowest first and fastest last. Competitors may use any sails or none. The finish is at a pleasant bay or harbor suitable for convivial afternoon rafting or shoreside gathering for the awarding festivities and suitable for overnight anchoring to recover from the rigors of racing and rewarding. And the trophies - bottles of champagne - are 'traveling' only in the sense that after opening they must be freely passed around.

If anyone has managed to remember past 'winners' and has or can still write them down for us, we will list them. And for sure we will record them for you in the future. Maybe this will entice you to try to become one of those listed.
