Champagne Race

What is more fun than just racing or just cruising?

• THE CHAMPAGNE RACE •

A Race That Is More Of A Cruise

A fun annual event for cruisers where all racing strategies are on the table and few rules apply. The race is a loosely organized pursuit in reverse PHRF order that finishes when the last boat arrives at the finish line, or the race is called. The race is open to all LCYC members and the event is finished with a Potluck dinner (burgers and buns supplied) where prizes are awarded. Please bring a potluck dish to share. When the weather permits, the destination is Kingsland Bay allowing those choosing not to arrive by boat to come by car. An alternate destination has been Willsboro Bay. Final destination will be made at the Captain's meeting when the start times are handed out. Everyone is welcome. The fleet heads home on Sunday.

Club

LCYC is a member-run yacht club located in a sheltered cove on the southwest shore of Shelburne Bay in Shelburne, Vermont, USA. We offer moorings, activities, and community for our members, most of whom own a sailboat or powerboat. The object of the Club is to promote and encourage boating and sailing on Lake Champlain, while emphasizing racing, cruising, and education, without financial gain. Cruising

Lake Champlain offers some of the best freshwater cruising in North America. The beautiful scenery and charming lakeside destinations make it a great place to explore. LCYC organizes several rendezvous events. Spontaneous cruising events also materialize throughout the season. We have a number of scheduled events planned for the summer season. Cruisers are out and about just about every weekday and weekend throughout the summer.
