You are cordially invited to join the assembled multitude Sunday afternoon\, Sept. 24 for what will probably be the last Don't Worry - Be Happy Pick-up Regatta of the 2006 sailing season\, or not.

The course will be from the starting line (Burlington Breakwater Southern Lighthouse... Oakledge Park Oil Pier Structure) around Juniper Island (island left to port) and back to the original line. There will be no skipper's meeting before the race. The silent starting gun will be at exactly 2\:00 PM\, GPS time. There will be no flagged starting sequence as there is no race committee. PHRF corrected class and overall results will not be posted as soon as possible after the conclusion of the race. Don't check the DW-BH Regatta website because it doesn't exist.

Late last week those of us at the Community Sailing Center learned we are to host two “sandbaggers” in Burlington from July 24 through August 2. These are replicas of the low-slung “skimming dishes” raced by oystermen in New York Harbor in the mid 1800’s. Through the generosity of the Bull &\; Bear Sailing Team with help from the Independence Seaport Museum of Philadelphia\, the boats were built in the mid-‘90’s the boats are being brought to Burlington to help raise funds for the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center.
