Horton - Nichol....Worlds Preview

As many of you know since China we have been preparing for our next big adventure, the 2006 Star World Championships. The Star Worlds is considered by many to be the pinnacle of yacht racing with the list of champions reading like the Sailing Hall of Fame. This year the world’s best sailors will be tested on San Francisco Bay, some of the most difficult racing conditions anywhere. With winds typically in excess of 20 knots, strong currents, short steep waves, and icy cold waters it makes sense that the world’s most feared prison, Alcatraz, sits in the center of the bay.

Great Ladies' Cup!!!!

Yesterday was one of the best Ladies' Cup races in recent memory. We were fortunate to be able to set a nice long course that was shortenable at lots of locations. While the wind was up at the end for all, it could have easily died off leaving the JAM boat wallowing in the slop trying to get back up from Saxton...thus the reason for the shorten. I'd like to thank the guest boats that joined our 39 boat fleet...of course our friends at MBBC and VSC....but also a number of Canadian entries that came down to make our event a wonderful success.
