Second Etchells Sunday E Series

With only two races completed because of light wind, this past Sunday’s E Series, which drew 7 boats, ended up with a 3-way tie for first between Hot Chocolate, Rascal and Senior Moment. That was followed by a two-way tie for fourth between Pied Piper and Rusty Truck.
There seems to be a common thread running through weekend races at LCYC, which includes not only the PHRF races but the Etchells E series races, and that is light air. The fleet spent the first half hour waiting for wind, and when it finally came in, it was only around 5 knots but varied from northeast to due west over the course of the afternoon. As a result, only two races were completed—a single windward-leeward and a double windward-leeward. The RC was once again ably run by Dale Hyerstay, with help from Steve Adams.
Two of the highlights of the day were when Mischief, sailed double-handed by Bette Reuter and Steve Walkerman, were one of the top boats at the first weather mark in the first race and Rick Steven’s small horizon job on the fleet in the second and final race.
